Welcome to an exciting year of learning to LOOK and LISTEN!
I am so excited to delve into exploring the progression of art and music over the last 2,000 years. It is going to be a rich time as we explore through projects, games, and building a timeline that incorporates the musical and art periods into the rest of history! One of the things I’m most excited about it the opportunity you and your children have to enjoy some of this great music and art at home!
Here are the resources you will need for this year:
All of our ART history will be covered in class. Prints will be available to view and/or print here.
Music takes longer to take in and thus will have a larger at home component. We will read a chapter about most of our composers from the book The Gift of Music that sheds light on their spiritual lives and the influences that shaped them and their music. Each week will also include a playlist on this page so you can listen to each composers work throughout the day.
An incredible additional option would be to invest in the Introduction to the Classics Audio series for 8 of our composers. These fabulous CD’s weave the story and the music beautifully together for each composer. I loved these when I was a girl and I know your kids will enjoy them too!
Rainbow Resource had the best consistent pricing for the audio cd’s.
